Ingredients
Toor dal - 1/3 cup
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
water - 1 1/2 cup
3 to 4 drops of oil to cook dal
salt to taste
Hing - 1/8 tsp
Grinding
cumin seeds - 1/2 tbsp
green chilli -2 no.
garlic pods - 2(optional)
small onion -1/2
Tempering
Mustard - 1/4 tsp
urad dal - 1/4 tsp
small onion chopped finely - 1/2
curry leaf
Red chilli - 1 small
oil - 2 tbsp
Finely chopped coriander for garnishing
Procedure
Take 1/3 cup of toor dal,add 1 1/2 cup of water,hing and 4 drops oil to it and pressure cook it for about 4 whistle.After the first whistle,make the stove medium for other 3 whistles
In the mixie grind cumin,greenchillis,garlic pods and small onions
Add the mixture to the boiled dal with turmeric powder and again cook for 2 whistle.Now the dal is ready.Add salt to it
Take a pan and add oil mustard and urad dal.After the mustard crackle add onion redchilli and curry leaf.saute the onion till it becomes brown in color.
Now add it to the dal and garnish with coriander leaf
